How difficult is it to change the drain fitting and control knob on a bathtub?
I’m re-tiling my bath/shower. Since the walls have already been ripped out I thought it might be a good time to replace the fittings in the bathroom. I really like the oiled brass color in bath fittings. It would not be too difficult to replace the knobs, downspout and showerhead with the brass color that I like. The problem is that the drain for the tub and the knob that opens and closes the drain are silver. I would have to rip out more wall to access these and I don’t know how difficult they are to replace. Is there a way to color them brass?? Or should I rip out the wall and go for it? Or should I just stick with silver?
