How can I lighten decking that has been stained a dark brown? Thanks.?
We have just added a new piece of decking to our existing deck, I would like it to be all a light oak colour, is this possible? The other alternative would be to paint it black, but everyone looks horrified when i suggest this, has anyone done it?
You can sand the whole thing down and stain it any color you want. The easiest way to do this is rent a floor sander for a day. You can also paint it but paint wears off in a few yers and you will have to do it again. Stain last alot longer and if you seal it well it will pass the test of time.
