What type of tree would turn bright yellow after it dies?
I recently saw a dead tree along the road, and it was bright yellow – I mean like Canary Yellow bright. There are no leaves on it, so I am wondering what kind of tree it might be.
I guess I should add, it has no branches, just a trunk – and it was split down the middle and half cracked and tipping to the side. It’s dead, not devoid of leaves.

It could be an old tree with some type of parasite or fungus growing on. This could cause such a bright color of yellow. It would also depend in what state or country you live in.
