I want to cut treated 4×4′s into planks with my band saw, What will work?
My blade is 6’3″,3/4 wide. where can I order it from,I want an agressive cut. I tried 3tpi it dulled too quickly.
3tpi is probably as coarse as you’re going to find. The problem with cutting treated wood is that the resin builds up on the blade and the resultant heat causes the blade to lose its temper and dull quickly. You might try an industrial saw distributor and buy a “bimetal” blade, one with a flexible steel body and high speed steel teeth brazed in place. The price will probably be 3-4 times the price of the carbon steel blade, but in the long run, it’ll probably be worth it.
Most industrial distributors that sell bandsaw blades weld them to the customers’ size requirements.
